The Local Rider Points are done up to and including June 24th 2009. There were a few thing I noticed, that I should remind all of you about, such as the number of wins that are required to move up in class. The rider needs 8 wins as a novice to move up to intermediate, and 25 wins as an intermediate to move up to expert, but in the case with girls they need their 8 Novice wins then they move to the Girls class which is the same point structure as Experts for Boys. Now saying that if you get your wins and you don't tell registration and you race in the wrong class, the ABA will not give any district, or national points. |

As some of you may have noticed our phone line at the track is not working, the problem may take a while to get sorted out. So for the time being pre registration can be done before 5pm on race days to 250-981-3890. This is only until we get the phone service fixed. Remember that you have to pre register before 5pm on weekdays and weekends before 11. Sorry for the inconvience. |

Ammendment to Volunteer Policy |
|
Sunday, 10 May 2009 |
|
The Directors have made an ammendment to the policy for volunteering. We have capped the amount of units required to 30 hours per household. Instead of the 15 per rider with no cap. We still need everyone to keep track of their volunteer hours even if they go over their required number of units. We need these numbers, for our application for gaming money. |

For those of you that were not at the AGM we had some suggestions about getting volunteers for the track and this is what the board and the members that were there have decided on. Each family will have to put forth a post dated cheque for $100.00 per family (not per rider in the family). The cheque will be dated for September 15th 2009. The track will require each full track member to fufill 15 units of volunteer work ,and 8 units for half trackers 1 unit = 1 hour There are many ways of easily getting these units done, not all volunteering takes place at the track. Some ways of getting the units are; Work in the concession Run the gate for gate practice Do berms on race days Finish line on race days First aid Work Party's Work at the PGX Work at our gambling wheels for West Coast Amusments Organizing the year end banquet Run the gate on Race Days Announcing I am sure there are other things that you could volunteer for that will come up. There will be a binder with every riders name in it in the concession, each individual is reponsible for recording their time in this binder. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. |

Racing Times During the school year we race on Wednesdays and Sundays, with gate practice on Mondays. When school is out for summer we race on Tuesdays and Thursdays with gate practice still on Mondays.Weekday races registration is 5:30 to 6:30 and race at 7pm. Weekend racing registration is at 11:30 to 12:30 and we race at 1 pm. Gate practice is at 6:30 pm on Mondays, excluding holiday weekends. In the month of September the start times vary as we start to lose our daylight, and the weather tends to change dramaticly. Those changes will be posted and announced at the races closer to that time. As soon as the snow starts to disapear we will be having a couple of work parties to get the track in race shape. Stay tuned for days and times. |
